IF SOMEONE GAVE YOU
THIS NUMBER or eddress and said it was theirs, you probably have a
pretty good idea why. They weren't interested. They don't want to hear from you. So why
didn't they just say so? Pick your favorite answer from this list of possibilities:
Whatever the reason, don't feel too bad. In the first place, not everyone can be a match made in heaven. In the second place, it usually takes time to discover a person's true value. Romance will eventually come your way. You can't hurry love. Keep on trying. Never give up - BUT you should probably give up on whoever sent you here. It sounds like a losing battle and they have every right to not be interested and give out their contact information. In the end, everyone benefits by learning to laugh at their problems - after all, everyone else does! We hope you got a chuckle along with your disappointment, which is better than the confusion and doubt you'd have gotten from a completely made-up phone number or eddress. At least someone was thoughtful enough to be frank with you, even if not face to face. If you're hopping mad, ponder the timeless wisdom contained in the phrase "Don't shoot the messenger." Hey, it's not our fault you got rejected! Save your energy for plotting your non-violent revenge, or just take it like a man (or woman, as the case may be) and get over it. Put it in your past and move on - whoever gave you this number certainly has! |

unLuckyNumber.com Historical File We should probably rename this the Hysterical file. You be the judge! A rather overbearing young man stepped into my crowd of friends, focused in on me, and talked until everyone else had wandered away. When he finally asked for my phone number, I sensed an opportunity to escape and gave him unLuckyNumber.com's number. I was so smooth! Or so I thought... After comparing the number to someone else's he had written down that night, he looked up and said, "Oh! You're Andrea's roommate." Some girl name Andrea had already given him the same number! What are the chances? I didn't know who she was or where she had claimed to live. I was about to get caught. I had to think fast. "You met Andrea?" I asked. "I'm sorry, but we have a very strict policy to not interfere with each others' dates, and she met you first." While he thought that over, I excused myself and slipped away into the crowd. -- "Debbie" Okay, we admit that we made that one up just to get things rolling. Send us your stories and keep us rolling (on the floor laughing)! |
